      I don’t think the world will end, it will just depend on whether or not we can live on it! Over the next few billion years, the brightness of the sun will increase which will lead to an increase in solar radiation and reduce CO2. Not good!

      At the moment, we are approaching a glacial period (well in about 100,000 years) which will be a problem for future generations.

      Finally, the sun is a star and will go through the star life cycle. The sun burns hydrogen at its core and by fusion produces helium. Eventually, it will burn the hydrogen around the outer layer of the sun instead and the Sun will reach a Red Giant stage and it will expand and expand, engulfing Mercury and Venus. This probably won’t happen for at least 7 billion years though!
