      It depends on the snake! Most snakes (70%) lay eggs whereas the rest give birth to live young. The ones that give birth to live young do not do it as most animal do – They hold the eggs inside their body rather than laying them, which hatch inside them and the hatched snake emerges from her body.

      As a general rule, pythons lay eggs and boas give birth to live young :-).
