I’ve been doing my job as a postdoctoral research associate for 1 year, but I actually feel like I’ve been doing my job since my PhD started in 2011. A PhD is basically a job, you are paid a stipend and you work full-time – you just happen to get a degree at the end of it!

I have been in my current position for a couple of weeks as I have just started a new job, but having been working in drug formulation and manufacturing for a couple of years at other companies.

I have been doing my current job for about a year and a half – but I am up to about 20 years as a scientist in a variety of roles!

I’ve been working as a PhD student for 2 years now, and have one more year to go. So I’m a little behind Dawn! At the end of the PhD, I get to write a thesis which is a summary of all my research over the 3 years in a book. I’ll then be examined on my research by two examiners, which is called a Viva and typically lasts 3hrs!!
