Yes and no! My favourite subject was maths, mainly because I didn’t have to work very hard at it. I liked science, but not all the sciences! I wasn’t very good at Physics and had to work very hard at it during GCSE. I started liking biology at A level, but only the Genetics part, but back then there was only 1 module out of 6 that had genetics in! But, I had to learn about ecology, plants etc which I didn’t really like. What I realised was that I was reading up on genetics outside of school in my spare time and that Genetics was what I really wanted to do. Then it was a case of working out how to do genetics and what exams I needed to get there. Even though I might have to learn some boring stuff along the way!

I liked physics and was quite good at maths. I also did chemistry and biology, but didn’t like them as much, despite my dad being a biology teacher.

Yes, I liked anything where there was a ‘right’ answer! So loved science and maths. At A level I found the experimental approach to physics challenging so only continued with biology, chemistry and maths. Now I wish I had persevered ?.

I really loved biochemistry – without realising it at first but then changing my pharmacology degree to biochem in year 1! Most of all I enjoyed biotech and food – and food tech is still a passion all these years later.

Yes, I’d probably say Chemistry was my one of favourite subjects, mainly because my teacher made learning really fun! I enjoyed Physics because of another fantastic teacher, but I did struggle with some of the concepts. And I never took Biology! (Sometimes I am still surprised that I got into a Neuroscience degree without the biology background!)

Yes and no, I was always interested and fascinated with the sciences and I always loved the practical work, it was only till I left school that I began to love the subjects.
